Did You Know This About the Titanic?

A few months from now, the Titanic will mark the 100th year after the tragedy. And while most of the mysteries surround the perishing of the ship has been solved, there are still a few that have not. Perhaps this is why the tragedy still has a hold on people today. Now, to fuel the interest of the general public, here are certain things you may not have known about the ship.

First, there were no cats aboard the Titanic. Unlike land where cats are a sign of bad omen, cats on a ship were seen as good luck. And as a way to control rodents. Second, the length of the ship is as long as the height of the Empire State Building. Third, interestingly, out of the survivors of the Titanic were two dogs, a  pomeranian and a pekinese. Fourth, an author named Morgan Robertson wrote a book with a plot that eerily resembled the events of the April 14 mishap. Spooky.
